Editing: For Authors

Create the book you’ve always wanted to write

So you’ve finished your book – congratulations!

You’ve worked on it for months, maybe years; and now it’s finally done. You’re proud of yourself, and rightly so.

You may be approaching traditional publishers, or you may be planning to self-publish. Either way, before you send your book out into the world, you want to give it a final polish.

That’s my job: to help you make your creation even better. I’m Antonia Morton, and I’m the book specialist.

My decades of experience with literature and journalism have given me the skills to tackle either fiction or non-fiction books, written in any style.

If your book is non-fiction, I give it detailed attention to aspects like organization and style, internal consistency, sentence structure, spelling and punctuation and grammar, and layout and design.

And if you’ve written a novel, visit my new site dedicated just to fiction: The Story Studio.

Helping you achieve your best

Whether you’re a published writer or an aspiring one, I do some (or all) of these things:

  • Evaluate your manuscript, and give you a “fix list” of how to improve it.
  • Help you to find, or strengthen, your unique writing voice.
  • Motivate you to view your story with your readers’ eyes.
  • Fix your sentences, mend your punctuation, query any doubtful word choices, point out possible errors, and generally clean up your MS.
  • Teach you how to be a “self-correcting” writer.
  • Help you with the task of approaching publishers or agents.

Think of me as your personal story coach, writing mentor, and cheerleader.
